Look at the potential of this beauty!

I think in 5 years time, when last teenager has flown, I might just about have one more big project like this in me!!

Need to lose a couple of bedrooms to increase the number of bathrooms, and knock thru to make a big kitchen

I wish I could do this right now!!!

Beautiful, although a lot of house if there are no DC living there. Shame about the parking, but what a lovely little lane it’s on.
I think it should be compulsory to offer a virtual viewing. I’d love to ‘walk’ around that, see how it flows and zoom into all the nooks and crannies. It will be amazing after a refurb, as long as they don’t rip all the character out!

It's weird - too many bedrooms for the downstairs space. And why is there a utility on the first floor? It looks as though it may have been split into flats or at least separate living spaces. I think the ground floor probably needs extending as well as the kitchen making bigger in order for it to be in proportion to upstairs. I also wonder whether it and it's next door neighbour were once the same house and divided at some point?

MILTOBE · 06/02/2024 11:55

I don't know that area - I imagine you'd have to spend a lot on it - what do you reckon it would sell for if it was done up?

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 06/02/2024 11:59

Each to their own, not my taste / choice but that's the great thing about property many of us like different things.

Tho I do agree it has some great period features, and I would like to know if some of that furniture is being left - could be sold / up cycled etc.

I would be concerned there is some structural damage in places or maybe just sheer neglect.

Was the property used as a family home ? as the 2 fire extinguishers makes me think of HMO or Children's Home etc.

Very good size property for not a lot of money, others appear to be 3/4 bed ' boxes ' in that price range

It said it hadn't been sold for 40 years, I think. So sad to think it's become like that.

Popquizzer · 06/02/2024 12:32

Lovely stairs in it.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 06/02/2024 12:33

It's been removed by the agent and is marked Sold STC.

Pipsquiggle · 06/02/2024 12:40

Amazing! Buy it!

Mamaraisedadoughut · 06/02/2024 12:41

Could be stunning...but the housework would count me out!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 06/02/2024 12:45

It's a lovely house.

What do you think has happened to it to mark the walls like that?

MerryMarigold · 06/02/2024 12:47

I would spend that just for the staircase!

eyeslikebutterflies · 06/02/2024 12:47

It's absolutely riddled with damp - all the GF rooms by the look of it - huge, huge patches of mould / removed plaster. Fixing that would be really difficult, and I say that as someone who doesn't mind a 'project'.

Meadowfinch · 06/02/2024 12:49

That's a lot of bedrooms for a last project, but I know what you mean OP.

When DS heads off to uni in a couple of years and I can retire and move away from London, I am looking forward to my 'one last big project' too. 😊

I'll be looking for a three bed detached with a lot of green space around it. Room for me, DS when he needs it, and a guest room. Can't wait. 😊

Yes that is the sensible plan & probably exactly what we will do ...but I do love a nosey around right move of an evening!

Looks like it's sold already...good luck to the buyers...I'd love to see the after pictures when it's done

...back to day dreaming then!

I love the hallway and staircase but I'd want a detached house.

MissRheingold · 06/02/2024 15:02

It's a semi detached would need so much money spent on doing it up you would probably not get your money back during your lifetime.

MissRheingold · 06/02/2024 15:05

Looking in streetview there is no pavement in either direction which may put some people off.
