We have professional drawings done by a surveyor.
We're looking to make an alteration at the back of our flat to add steps for access down into our share of the garden below.
There is precedent for similar alterations on neighbouring properties.
I've already written a lot of docs to get to this stage (need permission from the leaseholder too which we now have).
I've also got pre-planning advice where I wrote the document the planning dept advised on myself.
Got a vague 'should be ok might be some privacy issues' in reply. I asked for more info on that and didn't hear anything further.
Looking back last time we applied for something we used a planning consultant, but in the end we did a lot of work on the document ourselves. And we did not get permission granted.
So it felt like a waste of money.
Now I'm wondering though.
So what do you think? Is it reasonable to just write the application myself?
if so any tips on how to address the 'may be privacy issues' point well please? Googling around only brings up vague stuff.
