Landlord has asked me to video call

I’ve been renting a flat for 12 months through Yourmove who do full management. I’m a good tenant. Rent is paid on time each month etc. The landlord lives in Australia & has requested a video call ‘to see the place’. we’ve just had an official Property Inspection 2 weeks ago from an inventory company and I don’t really want to deal with a video call, it feels OTT. AIBU?

What does your tenancy agreement say about property inspection?

That’s a bit odd? We have rented properties in Australia managed by an agency and trust them to do the inspections and take photos then report back to us. Maybe the landlord is nosey and just wants to meet you?

I would say in reply “the agent has visited recently and has not given any indication of any issues. Why do you need a call with me?” and see what they say.

I’d be declining and asking them to contact the agents for the report. Doesn’t matter what the tenancy agreement says, the law is quiet enjoyment. You facilitated an inspection so any issues can be dealt with between the landlord and agent.
