I had a small 'flood' into the subfloor area of my house (the whole area wasn't flooded just a puddle) in the recent storms. There was no damage and as such no claim was made and it was caused by water pooling in a low area of my garden which rose enough to sneak in the vents. Ground was already saturated from a very wet month so the stormwater didn't drain quickly as it usually would. I informed insurance of the incident as I know I have to but am wondering if anyone has experience of how much their premium rose after an incident like this? I have put measures in place to stop this from happening again, will this get taken into account when calculating my premium? House is in a low flood risk area, just bad luck and in a storm in the wettest December since records began. 😞
