Neighbour doesn't have lead flashing on new roof

Neighbour in semi detached joined house had a new garage roof, was a flat roof now it’s slanted, and since then we’ve had water coming into our garage. 2 roofers who’ve seen it said it’s because they don’t have lead flashing and it’s causing water to come in through the brickwork. What is the solution? Neighbours are very uncooperative, tried talking to them many times but to no avail. What is the next step? Money is tight for us so can’t really afford to fix their roof. Legally can we make them sort their roof out? Is there a way to prove that it’s causing water damage to our property?

Contact your house insurance/legal team.
We had a similar issue and they contacted the other owners insurance and it was sorted with no cost to us. Your house insurance won’t stand by and let your property be damaged by the neighbours property ime.

Find out where the water is coming off and put a simple drainage system in place ?

It can't be too expensive to run a guttering across a flat roof and attach a downpipe to the nearest drain ?
