Need some help !
I have a garage door that I hardly ever open. It is powered and I have only ever opened it via the power.
I needed to open it a little so decided to try to do it manually. There was a click and the door opened. But now for some reason I cannot close it.
There is a plastic carriage with a lever on it that slides up and down the rail. It is attached to a coupling rod that attaches to the door. A pin can remove the coupling bar from the carriage. As I push the carriage forwards, the lever on the bottom tries to rotate so it is vertical. But I cannot push the carriage far enough forwards for it to lock in place against the bow clip. If I remove the coupling rod by removing the pin I can push the plastic carriage forwards no issues and engage it with the clip.
I thought about smacking the carriage with a hammer but I am worried about breaking it. I don't seem to be able to apply enough force to move it forwards so it will lock in place against the clip.
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong ?
TIA !
