Shower - separate or over bath?

The family bathroom in our house is in need of a renovation. Currently have a shower over the bath, the room is a good size and there is room for a separate shower but due to the position of the windows and door, the layout would be similar to the attached photo, with the shower next to the side of the bath.

Does anyone have a shower and bath set up like this? I’m worried I’m going to make a bright, spacious bathroom feel cluttered.

Can the radiator be moved? Looks quite tight to get between to grab a towel.

I'd go for shower over bath, much easier to clean

@Seaside3 That isn’t my bathroom it’s just a pic from a bathroom showroom but probably would need to put the towel radiator in that position which I’m not sure about either, although could definitely put a hand towel closer to the sink.

If I had space I’d have a separate shower but I don’t think there’s enough room if that’s your layout.

Ah, OK. Then yes, we have a shower next to the bath like this. We did it to get our washing into the bathroom. It doesn't feel cluttered. Our radiator is between bath and shower with a towel rail over it.

We have a shower next to a bath in an en suite so fairly small. We built a stud wall in between to create the shower compartment then the shower has a door on the front.

thats fine and I’ve been in hotel rooms with that layout. Walk in shower is an absolute boon. If you can fit it in do so, so much better than clambering in and out of a bath.

I’ve had a shower cubicle immediately next to a bath, on a long wall but with a slanted ceiling. It’s doable and the layout worked. Shower in the corner, bath coming off one side and perpendicular to that the basin and then the loo.
