Which tradesperson does this?

I'm looking into the possibility of having fibre broadband installed in my Victorian terraced house.
Installation will be tricky (I think) due to limited outside wall space and a lack of well placed electrical sockets.
Siting it (ie. ONT box) in an upstairs bedroom would possibly work best for me (if that can be done) but I then would need to get an ethernet connection from the router, in the front bedroom, to my desktop computer, in the back bedroom - a long way - it's a long, thin house.
Which tradesperson would do this for me? Electrician? Tech person? General handyman?

I should say, I'm not tech savvy so having someone who could make sure it works before they leave would be helpful.

All views gratefully received and Blue Peter badge for any input from an Openreach technician/friend/relative.

I thought the broadband provider usually did all this for you? Virgin Media did our full installation.

The broadband provider did ours came and drilled holes through the wall. Over two apts one guy bought the line across ready to outside the property and the other came a week later installed it into the house. Then 2 weeks later they eventually came back and installed little extra receiver boxes in several rooms so we could actually get it!

Thank you for your replies.
I wonder then, does it depend on who you are with? - not Virgin here.
With the exception of Virgin, I think broadband providers sub-contract to Open reach for this work, so they will be the installers.
I'm probably catastrophising.
Will do more reading.

Defo Italy start by contacting your internet provider. They will tell you what is and isn't available with them in your area. If it's not enough, make a few calls to see if anyone else has better and then switch. They should then do all the installation for you.

Mine was sorted out by my internet service provider.

I sorted out my contract with an upgrade to full fibre. A technician from Open Reach who were I presume sub contacted, to do a site survey.

Two weeks later Open Reach came back & installed the system. The technician will be familiar with tricky set ups like yours so relax & leave it to the experts.

Start with your current internet service provider. They will get the ball rolling.

AV guy or Audio Visual Installer should be able to handle network distrubution of Cat 6 and Fibre

See if Brsk are in your area. They do it all.
They are very good.

I rang Virgin to ask for an Ethernet extension and they said they couldn’t do it but could provide a Wi-Fi booster. Do you definitely need fixed Ethernet?
