Help!

I’ve attached the floor plan.

I want to cover the living room, hall, kitchen and diner in the same flooring.

I think I need 30m2 with wastage…. Am I right?

Should I get a professional in to measure for me Blush

I would go a little bit more to be safe. What type of flooring is it?

Take that diagram into the flooring shop and then it is their responsibility to ensure they have the right amount.

Thanks for replies. It’s laminate flooring but on offer at the moment so want to order.

The flooring is from B&Q - can I ask someone in there with the pictures?

Check that the measurements on the floorplan are actually correct for a start.

I don't see the hallway measurements on that floor plan? The kitchen and living room would be around 30m2 and then you should add 10% for wastage. So I think you need a bit more.

So I’ve just done a very basic calculation.

The width of your house is 5.07 meters and the length of your house is 7.79 meters (that’s the whole ground floor).

Rounding up, that is 5.1 x 8, which makes 40.8m2.

Now as I understand it you’re not doing the section which is where the stairs and downstairs loo are and that is 0.96m x 4.68m. So rounding up again, that’s 1 x 5m, so 5m2. You could decide to take that off the whole ground floor meterage which would make 35m2. But personally I’d allow that as wastage and just order the full 41m2. Depends on how much the floor costs and how good your fitter is!

But I agree, check that the floorplan is correct and take it to B&Q as they can check and a good flooring person will know how much wastage you need on particular products (this depends on how the product fits together).

5.07x7.79 is 39.49 Get 40m2 that will cover waste and any full packs you can take them back or keep as spare. 30m2 won’t be enough.
