Central heating not working.

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has any advice for my heating issue, as an engineer is not due until Monday and I am COLD!

So I tried turning on my central heating last night for the first time this winter, but the radiators won't switch on at all. The green light on the boiler indicates the heating is on, and there is a flame sign on the thermostat. Both of which I assume means it should work?

I have a Baxi combi boiler and a danfloss thermostat.

I have already tried the following but to no avail:

Put brand new batteries in thermostat
Reset thermostat
Reset pressure in boiler
Turned boiler off for a few hours and turned back on
Bled all radiators in the house

Not sure what else there is to try?

The one thing I did notice is that when I switched the heating on, the temperature in the hot water taps increased tenfold, it was scalding hot! Once I switched the heating back off, the hot water resumed back to more normal temperatures (I have set it around 60c max).

Thank you in advance.

Sounds like the zone valve has gone. It's staying on hot water rather than moving over to heating when "told".

Yep, sounds like the valve. Look up baxi boiler+valve not working type thing & see what suggestions you find. It might be easy to fix yourself.
