Charlbury

Moreton in the Marsh

Somewhere close to a train station I guess if you have to travel into London?

For example Moreton in Marsh is about 1.5 hours direct train from London Paddington- not too bad for people who only have to go into the office once or twice a week.

Cirencester. Attractive town with plenty going on. You have to drive to Kemble Station but it's not far and surprisingly quick to Paddington (1 hr 15) for somewhere which seems so remote.

Is it to go to London everyday? Or just to be able to get there once/twice a week.
What other things do you want from a location? Is it a village with just a pub, or do you want to be able to get to swimming/ childrens clubs easily?

What amenities do you need, what's your budget? Buying or renting?

northchesterforest · 16/01/2024 16:03

Budget 700k give or take, ideally 3 bed. London 2 days per week for work. Starting a family so good non fee paying schools. Probably asking a lot but looking for nice amenities and a bit of a cosmopolitan vibe (moving from London)

Love a posh pub!

Definitely Charlbury.

1h10 to Paddington. A Daylesford pub has newly opened and another pub called the Bull opened in the summer, sister to The Pelican in Notting Hill. Full of Londoners. Ten minutes to Soho farmhouse and Chippy is 10 minutes away for amenities.

I have only visited the Cotswolds once but, oh my !
The villages were gorgeous.
