Kitchen Renovation - Where To Start?

We want to carry out a kitchen renovation that will not include an extension. There is a wall to come down that is currently housing a utility and toilet space in one corner of the space. Is an architect necessary and if not, who or what do I need? Who would help me to design a new kitchen layout? Builders seem to want to be approached with plans but having never done anything like this before I am feeling a little overwhelmed with where to start. Any guidance and advice appreciated. Thank you!

You need to check it’s not a load bearing wall. Any kitchen place can do the design.

i'd get a surveyor or architectural technician to have a look and advise if you need a beam to hold up the wall. they can also advise on someone to do plans or maybe do them.

Check with an architect or a builder on what you need. I needed plans for my project but it was a full blown extension. They gave loads of advice before I started which was helpful, maybe they could help?
