I have a small kitchen which was fitted in the house when it was built in the 80’s. So well past its sell by date. I’m reluctant to get a brand new fitted kitchen for environmental, aesthetic and financial reasons. I’m not averse to some fitted units (second hand) but would love to see anyone who has a small kitchen and have done something different. Able to budget £1-2k.
many thanks

Hi! Are the units themselves OK? In my old house we saved some wall units and my oh (joiner) made them look new with new doors. This whole kitchen, excluding fitting, was about 1k...

We repurposed old wall units, using b & q (I think) doors and end panels from ikea. We used ikea for the rest. The wooden doors were in the sale. The worktops were sourced from different places. The shelves were ikea brackets and scaffold planks. It may not be everyone's taste, but it shows you can do a lot with a bit of creativity.
