I have received my mortgage offer on Tuesday awaiting for it to arrive in the post. What things should i ask my solictor and what happens next? How long does completion take once receiving offer?

What do you mean by completion? If you’re talking about how long it will take to complete the house purchase, it depends on a load of factors. For example, once we received our mortgage offer, it took near to six months (the deadline for our mortgage offer) because the sellers didn’t have the appropriate paperwork for our listed building’s work consent.
Straightforward transactions can take as little as eight weeks. Perhaps as little as six weeks if it’s very smooth.

Completion has always taken ages for me even without a chain either side. This one took 12 weeks.

Your solicitor will get a copy of your mortgage offer but they still need to do all the checks and searches. Get the EA involved as they need to keep things together.

But I would advise you to fully check out the area and neighbours now. Knock on doors if you need to to find things out. I wished I had done this with my house before this one as I ended up in a nightmare.
