hi everyone

i am hoping to find people with experience of this. We are selling our house and just found out there is spray foam insulation in the loft. This didn’t come up on our survey when we purchased it but it has to be removed now. Can any share details of how much it cost or how bad it was? Thanks

Hi Nw22,
I just read your post from earlier this year. It appears you didn’t get any replies. I’m in the same situation as you described, and finding it quite scary. Can I ask if you managed to find a solution. Thank you in advance for a reply!

@Nannasnet hi, yes we did manage to get it removed. It cost a bit over 4000 and delayed our move a few weeks as our buyers surveyor had to come out again

Thank you for your reply! Well done. May I ask how you found a company to carry out the work? I don’t know if naming it is allowed. Thanks!

Hi. I would be so very grateful if you could let me know how you found a foam insulation removal company? (And if it’s allowed, their name). Thanks!

We just got quotes from local companies and picked one that provided the certificate of completion

Look for ice blasting companies

Thank you for your reply! We have not had much success with searches so far. All companies seem to be 0800-numbers, and not trustworthy. But I’m happy you had yours sorted! Gives me hope. Thank you so much for your time!

Join your old house uk - repair and conservation on facebook. If you can’t find what you are looking for through searching your area name, ask them. They hate foam insulation with a passion and I am sure they will help you, even if your house is like a shiny new penny.

There is a company near Liverpool or Stockport who remove foam, they travel all over the country, they use dry ice and manual method.
Lovely team. Sorry can't remember the name.
Much cheaper than local companies.
