I find it creepy. I am getting a very unsettling feel about it. I think it’s the idea of sleeping under the machinery . I am not a woo person but it’s a strong no

Same

It would be lovely as a holiday let but probably too quirky for me as a permanent home.

Josette77 · 02/01/2024 05:22

Adorable, but as eclectic as I am even that would be a no from me. It's not practical, I couldn't keep it clean enough, and don't love sleeping under machinery. It creeps me out.

The traffic in summer and road noise would put me off. Then there's the sails and the sea air. My aunt lived in Hove, you need to keep on top of property maintenance.

TisTheDarnSeason · 02/01/2024 06:17

Fun for a holiday but not as a regular home. There's not actually that much house for the money, spiral staircases piss me off and the machinery would annoy me after a while.

It's rather stunning and the garden is lovely, but it looks very high maintenance.

My main whoah is it's only Council Tax band F! (The highest is H). Which means the market value of the property was between £120,001 and £160,000 on 01/04/1991. That seems surprisingly low to me. Council tax bands are waaaay overdue a revaluation.

Often the council tax band is regraded when sold to reflect the changing state of the house/market. Our house was listed as council tax A but when we bought it, they moved it up to B because the previous owners had converted the basement into a living space so it increased the value of the house. Annoyingly, they only do this when the property changes hands, not at the time of the works.

It would be a lovely place to holiday in, but not live in full time. Those stairs, I could cope with them for a week or 2, but after that I think the novelty would wear off.

Plus, what exactly is the point of a heated paddling pool? It doesn't even look particularly nice and must cost a lot to maintain.

I watched a programme from the USA a few years ago, where they investigate creepy goings on and try to debunk. I'll always remember the one in the lighthouse where 'something' was on the stairs. Because this is the same sort of shape, it would put me right off. Well, that and it being right out of my price range.

Gorgeous but too niche. Resale wouldn't be easy imo. Also v expensive for what it actually provides

Petrine · 02/01/2024 07:13

I love it.
