painting floor tiles and replacing worktop Qs

I'd like to repaint the kitchen floor tiles to give the kitchen a facelift without buying a new kitchen!

Has anyone tried this? How long does it last? Does the paint chip?

Same question for wall tiles. I guess that's easier as there's nobody walking on them?!

And finally, we have a section of worktops behind the taps that is rotten. Can we replace a section of worktop or do you have to replace the whole thing??

Thank you!

My parents painted an old quarry tile floor in their kitchen. It chipped the first time a vacuum cleaner went over it due to it's uneveness. They eventually tired of it and carpeted over it instead. GL

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks!

I've painted kitchen wall tiles and they've not chipped except where a pot of utensils bash against the wall. I'd definitely not paint floor tiles though, that wouldn't last. The walls have only been done as a stop-gap.

Couldn’t you do cheap vinyl instead of painting the floor? I’ve painted wall tiles and they lasted pretty well, but floors wouldn’t.
