Site inspection report(s)

Have developed some worries re standard of work done when we had a loft conversion 2 years ago. The builders did all the planning and admin. Our relationship with them is now strained, to say the least though they have forwarded us the structural engineer's original calculations. We also have the certificate from the building regs visit at the end of the work.

We now want to see the report done when the inspection was done by building control, but the company used are refusing to give it to us, suggesting it is not our information to have. I want to chase this today - my question is, basically, are we definitely entitled to have the full report? TIA

If the builder paid for the report, even if this was reinvoiced to you, I suspect that you are not entitled to a copy. You have no contract with them. But, IANAL.

You can request it from the council, they have all the information. The might be a fee but they have to keep it safe.
