Convert garage to utility?

We live in a 3 bed detached with integral garage. Well, half garage really as previous owners converted half to extra living space.

We are toying with the idea of converting the other half into a utility/laundry/boot room type space but unsure if this would be a good or bad thing when/if we come to sell (not planning to atm). It’s approx 3m x 2.7m.

Ideally I’d like it to house the washing machine, tumble dryer (already there), somewhere to wash the dog and plenty of storage for things like gardening tools, decorating stuff as well as cleaning and utility type stuff.

Would this devalue the house or be a good thing? What things would we need to consider?

We have just moved in to a house that has a converted garage (in to a kitchen, leaving a dining room/office where the kitchen was). There is also a brick outhouse/shed for storage. We like it, but we wouldn’t have considered it if it weren’t for the other storage. What does this leave you in terms of options for ‘stuff’ if you lose the garage completely?

sounds good as the garage is not usable as car storage anyway due to previous building work.
a shower (and possibly toilet) would be a great addition for anyone with a messy job/hobby.

Tbh the only big things in the garage are our bikes and quite a large petrol lawnmower. We were thinking of a shed in the garden for those things, or some sort of storage box.

I definitely don't want to lose storage for outside /dirty things so would definitely try to maximise storage.

Well it's not a garage anyway so what you do with the space is unlikely to devalue it. I think it sounds like a great idea.
