Gas hob

We need a new gas hob. I have seen some with the control knobs on the front rather than the side like our current one. I think that seems like a good idea because they will be easier to reach for dc who are just old enough to start cooking for themselves.

Are there any disadvantages of this and will it be more complicated to fit?

Sorry, not the most interesting thread!

I don't think there are any issues with having the controls on the front.

You can buy hobs with controls on the front/top, IYSWIM.

If someone is not able to reach controls on the top of a hob though, I would question whether or not they would also capable of lifting heavy pans of hot cooked stuff off the hob, especially off the rear.

Thanks for the reply. My eldest is 11 but small for her age, would mostly be making beans on toast or similar.

Well here you go then.

On the first page there is some with the controls at the front, and a couple of smeg ones with vertical controls.

Edit : You can search for the online manuals for fitting requirements, or talk to the retailer direct if there are any specific fitting needs.
