Best places to live in Surrey

Hey! So I’m planning on starting university in September in Surrey and I drive to Watford for work. I currently live in south west London so not even that far from Surrey however I’m just tired of the commute to Watford but absolutely love my job. I’m wanting to live somewhere in Surrey ideally near the m25 and close to Watford so ideally not anywhere around box hill or that south. My budget for private rent with my boyfriend is £1500, it’s a lot of money but unfortunately that’s life nowadays. We both are in our mid 20s, like a bit of nightlife and want to have a train station near by so family who don’t drive can visit. I don’t go Surrey that often so I’m not sure where’s safe and where’s not. Thanks!!

Which university? Tbh £1500 won't necessarily go far. Avoid anywhere east of A3 as the junction works will go on for another two years. Maybe near Staines?

Woking

Not necessarily the most exciting nightlife but has the usual pubs/restaurants. Also 30 min train to Waterloo and trains run late and are regular.

Driving to Watford would be around 45 mins.

Guildford also quick on train from Woking.

£1,500 would get you a flat possibly a house (although not the nicest parts) of Woking.

Just to add, I'm in West Byfleet which is closer to the M25 junctions than Woking (so might be better for getting to Watford) . It's a nice area and Woking is about 5 mins on the train but it's an area that people go to to have families/retire(!)
