Are garden flats a bad investment?

Many of these in my area are very pretty but often lower ground floor. I was reading they often have humidity issues and they are less safe but some people reckon they are more in demand than flats with no outside space.
Does anyone have one, is it a mad investment?

Are you actually buying it for an investment? Or are you buying it to live in?

I bought one to live in and I love it, I've got no reason to ever move out. One issue you have to watch out for around liability for foundations and roof aka a flying freehold because some lenders won't lend on this.

If you're looking to play landlord you won't get much return on your investment. They cost more than a flat but less than a house and tenants will expect to pay for a flat not a house for rent.

No sorry I meant to live in! As in, is it a good buy
