Boiler working but central heating not

We went to put the heating on for the first time yesterday and it's not working. Boiler seems warm and the hot water is fine but nothing is happening with the heating. We had brand new radiators put in throughout the house in March this year and apart from testing them when they were installed we haven't used them. Normally when the heating is on we can feel the heat from the pipes when we touch the wall in certain places but it's cold there as well. Is there a simple fix for this or do we have to call someone out?

That’s low pressure. Turn your filling loop on to get the pressure up to 2 bar, and reset the boiler.

Honestly, just call someone in.
I had a similar experience and, unless you’re a heating expert, this isn’t a DIY job.

Yes it's pressure. You could youtube how to top up the pressure or call a gas safe engineer.

Depends on which boiler you have. Post a picture! Every boiler is different. Just because f1 is low pressure on an ideal logic doesn’t make that true for other models.

it’s a thermistor fault on a vaillant so any advice is useless until you post a picture or make and model

Do you own your own house or do you rent? If you rent you need to call the landlord. It's the water pressure that needs to be topped up, but depending on why it dropped, the boiler might need some attention.

Thank you everyone. For those who asked, it's a glow worm boiler. I tried to take a photo but it's in a very dark cupboard. We rent the house and we spoke to the landlord on Friday who said to try and fix it ourselves. Today we told him about the no hot water and the F1 error code and he said we could call a plumber/gas engineer tomorrow.

Are you in a location that currently has sub zero temperatures?

elliejjtiny · 03/12/2023 20:16

No, it's 8 degrees outside and 12 degrees inside at the moment.

Do your drains or sinks near the boiler get blocked?

elliejjtiny · 03/12/2023 20:42

No

After calling a load of plumbers, including 5 who didn't answer and 1 who offered to come out after Christmas we have got someone coming to look at the boiler today. Hopefully I will be warm by tea time.
