I live in a Victorian house which has been badly decorated (on occasion by me) for years. It has layers of paint and looks a bit rubbish. I don't have funds to pay someone to decorate it properly and think it's a task I need to do myself. (I am single so no partner to help me - just some crap children). More than one person has told me that it can be restored to look really good.
What resource is there for me to learn how to do this? I was told yesterday it's quite easy (!). Is there a book I can read? I'm prepared to spend weekends sorting it until it looks good. Due to a leak, I do have an insurance claim that will partially cover the decoration in the hall and stairways so I can probably leave that to an expert.
I'll need to do walls, woodwork and floors and repair things in between. Basically become handy.
