I've heard rumours that stamp duty may change in 2024, how true do you think that is? And if the changes were implemented, when would it take affect?

Keeping my fingers crossed!

The last time stamp duty was culled, it caused a massive spike in house prices. Be careful what you wish for.

Which does make it likely that the Tories will introduce another stamp duty pause soon as they must be panicking about the next GE

Added to that, you cannot get developers to build when house prices are falling, so they'll be massively off their annual house building targets as well.

It seems more likely than unlikely.

We'll know by Wednesday.
