What can I do while waiting? Practical stuff

In the process of buying a house – yay! Not too stressed but got a bit of free time this week and want to channel my excitement* into doing practical things to get ready. So does anyone have any good ideas for useful things I can do now? (FYI, we are first-time buyers so we're not selling our house.)

I've done all our decluttering/clearing out, so there's nothing left to do there. And we're not doing any renovations so nothing to plan. Plus, I'm up to date with all paperwork/forms/enquiries. Oh, and it's same area so don't need to research commutes/shops etc.

Any smart ideas?

*I do know things can go wrong and I'm not counting my chickens, but like being busy and feeling prepared.

Are you planning on using movers? If so get quotes from local firms. Write yourself a list of everyone you need to inform when you move. Plan post redirection.

Do you need to buy any furniture for the new place? Maybe start thinking about what you need and getting some ideas/prices of things.

Do you exchange soon? Start the process of getting your internet sorted at the new place. Book them as soon as you exchange. They have a lead time.

I know you said you have already decluttered but it is worth mentioning, how about the shed/garage/loft storage? It is amazing how often people forget to sort these spaces out.

Can you start to box up any stuff that you wont for a while and piling these up in space that isn't in the way? We used one side of our previous utility and half of the dining room?

You could start on deep cleaning kitchen cupboards. We cleaned inside the cupboards and put the stuff back in a few weeks before we moved in. Come packing away day and we just gave them a quick wipe.

Thanks all!

@LadyDanburysHat haven't done any of this so good shout
@Twiglets1 love the idea but that might be chicken-counting! However, you've inspired me to think that I'll definitely need a proper step-ladder and to think about hiring a wallpaper steam remover thingy
@Notyetthere aha, the garage! Will do today. Current house generally in very good condition but kitchen cupboards are a bit grimy, and there are a few scuffs I should get off the walls.
