What colour front door should we get?

We have a red brick house and at the moment all doors and windows are dark brown. The front door desperately needs changed so we are doing that soon.

We really don't want another dark brown door. We are thinking either: dark blue, light oak brown, a sage green or grey. Then we are also unsure if we should put a trim around it in another colour like white.

What do you think would go well with a red brick house with dark brown windows?

Ive tried looking at Google as i need to see things to imagine them but i'm struggling.

From the four colours you have mentioned, the sage green would be my choice. I have dark brown windows, and my front door is red with a white trim.

Sage green would be my choice, too. Don't go for grey, it's very overdone now and I think you may regret it a year or two down the line.

I'd probably go for dark blue from your choice. But if I was getting a new front door, it'd be yellow. Yellow front doors always look so cheery!

Don't get grey because it will 'clash' with the dark brown windows.
I thin sage green or navy would be good.

What direction does your front door face? Ours faces south and the red door that was put in it before we bought it faded really badly. I've painted it yellow now so hopefully won't show quite as badly when it fades. If yours is south facing I'd probably go for the sage green colour.

I can attest to that fact. Our front door is bright yellow and I love it!

Think about what colours go with red brick. Also the south facing aspect if it’s painted. (As dark paint will blister and flake more quickly in direct sun).

Sage green would be safe and lovely and goes really well with nice pots and wreaths and all those things.

Awww I know it’s not on your list but I love a red front door.

Thanks everyone. Great suggestions. Almost tempted by a yellow door because it's my favourite colour but the husband is dead against it lol. Will probably go either sage or dark blue. Red was on our list initially but took it off.
