hey!! i am moving into a rented property with my boyfriend however my mum is paying the rent would we still need to be credit checked and whos name would the application be under?xxx

All three of you will need to be credit checked. They won't let you put your mum on the lease but not live there so it will have to be in your names. Your mum will have to be a guarantor. She needs to be a home owner to do this.

Can you both claim housing benefit?

We paid our son's rent at uni. Our names weren't on the application form as the tenant, only his name.

But my husband was the guarantor so he had to provide his bank details and give details of salary. I expect he was credit checked.
