No other interest in a property for months and suddenly another offer just when you put your offer in?

Has this happened to everyone else? It's a lie right? I'm sure this has happened the past 3 times we've moved and it's happening again!

no, i doubt it is a lie.

so EA putting both to vendor and then he’ll let you know if accepted? has he indicated that other offer higher? or in better position?

NotReadyForThisYet · 16/11/2023 17:34

I’ve never had this happen, I’m in my 4th house and just about to go up for sale again. I will see if it happens when I put an offer in this time.

orangedrizzle · 16/11/2023 18:00

No, no info whatsoever on the other offer and they don't appear to have had any interest on it in months.

Maybe we're just very unlucky!

A friend had this once

So I rang up the agent , arranged a visit and was informed there was one offer already on the table
Not 2

Weirdly, we had this years ago as a seller. On the market for a while with no offers. Then...boom! Three on the same day.

So it does happen.

Issummernearlyover · 16/11/2023 19:11

House had been on the market for three years. On with two agents. Put in offer which was accepted and then the other agent said he'd had an offer the same day! We then had to fight for the house and as we were able to proceed, the vendor grudgingly let us have it. In the end it wasn't mortgageable so we dropped out, but very fishy IMHO.

Family had 2 offers at the same time and both exactly the same offer. Went to best and final and only 1 person upped their offer. I woukd believe the agent.

I don't know I wouldn't put anything past an estate agent.

I viewed a house last week. Offered asking price. That's what it was on for, not offers above or around.

Was advised they've had two offers already above asking but hadn't accepted as they were too low? It's still up. They are still accepting viewings. ( my friend called up to enquire)

I can't understand why they don't just up the price?
