Anti mould paint

Can anyone recommend an anti mould paint? Need to get a small bedroom painted and I've been 'recommended' some special paint by the letting agent, which is around £80 a tin....

Wondering if anyone has had success with any of the ones available from Homebase etc...

If there is mould then anti mould paint won't fix the problem, it will just push it somewhere else/ somewhere you can't see.

Long term It is better to fix the problem by making sure there aren't any leaky gutters, or damp walls and that the room is ventilated and heated enough to stop the mould.

Obviously you don't have a lot of control over heating and ventilation if you are a landlord? I have heard that those loft air extraction systems can help?

Doesn't work

Bathroom paint is designed to withstand moist conditions, might be an alternative? Dulux and other brands do some.

Look up anti mould additive less than a tenner can be added to all paint.

We buy white wickes anti mould paint can’t remember the price but much less than £80!

We used this from homebase and it was fine. It was to cover the stain of an old leak which kept coming through, as mentioned above, it won’t work on anything worse than that.

Thanks all. Letting agent is checking for water ingress, plus the windows are getting fixed. I did suggest getting a dehumidifier, but was told that is not an option. I have a suspicion that the tenant is not putting the heating on... which obviously will not be helping.

(Accidental landlord btw before anyone thinks otherwise, it's currently causing me more issues financially than it's worth! Irony is the house that I live in is falling apart and I can't afford to get any of it fixed 🤯)
