Overflowing water

Hi all. Looking for advice.

Flat age 30 years. Recently purchased. Was vented water tank. Recently upgraded to unvented water cylinder. However because the toilet is quite old fashion, the pressure from the new water system ‘overwhelmed’ the old toilet so caused the toilet to overflow via the pipe that leads outside the flat.

do I need a new toilet? Or is there a fix?
I was told the old ‘vented’ water heater system pressure is similar to toilet so it ‘balanced’ itself out. So new unvented system had high water pressure so made it worse. Spent 2K on the new unvented system… I don’t know what to do.

thanks.

It sounds like you just need a replacement fill valve for your toilet - one that's designed for high pressure systems.

Definitely not a whole new toilet.
