Scratch on induction hob - a no no?

Hi All,

I have been looking for induction hob deals. I can see quite a few on facebook marketplace and ebay, some for 50% or 60% off the regular price and new in the box. But they typically have at least one scratch and usually inside the ring somewhere.

Do these impair performance / need repair? In oter worss doe sit make teh item a dud?

Please let me know your thoughts!

As long as it's just a scratch and not a crack, then it's still usable and doesn't affect performance.

It's pretty common for these to get scratched in normal use, and it might be possible to polish out a light scratch if you care enough about how it looks.

Mines had a few scratches on it since about a week after it was installed 5 years ago, I had gas before and it took me a while to get used to not having to move pans around! It Still works perfectly and you can’t really see the scratches unless you look closely. I bloody love it!

It’s this one, if you’re interested.
