Bathroom fittings - what makes to choose???

I'm looking at a bathroom refit & have chosen furniture & sink.

Need toilet, concealed cistern, taps, thermostatic shower, shower tray, sliding shower door (1200).
Plumber will supply the bits & pieces, but adds 20% on materials so am keen to source the larger stuff myself.

Currently have a Grohe thermostatic shower approx 25 years old & never had a problem (whereas main bathroom has a cheap thermostatic tap/shower mixer that I've replaced a couple of times).

Keen to get decent quality that lasts, but don't want to pay for style over substance.

Toilet, shower tray - I think go for basics?

Good brands that are likely to last for the below?

  • Thermostat shower
  • Concealed cistern
  • Taps

Any suggestions for sliding shower screen?

Plumbase have a few good ranges much cheaper than buying direct from retailer. They did have Nuie bathrooms 50/60% cheaper than catalogue price.
