Just want to check if this is right or if I’m being taken advantage of as has happened before.

Lead flashing to be installed on chimney and new soffit in very small gap to be put in. £425

no scaffolding or anything needed - would be done in attic

Did the person say how long it would likely take? A day's labour is currently somewhere between £200-300, plus materials on top of that, plus potentially paying a labourer, plus overheads such as van, tools, quoting etc - these are all built in. Depending on what kind of tradesperson you're using, they may have a minimum call-out rate.

@DiamandaTheGreat its not urgent, just general maintenance as we have no problems with the roof urgently - storm didn’t have any notable affect.

He said it would be done in under a day. He’s an independent roofer recommended by a neighbour. He would come to do it in a few weeks

Looks quite modest.

Doesn't sound too bad to me.
If you don't get this work done and you end up with a leak around your chimney the costs will be a LOT more.

If this guy has been recommended I'd go with him TBH,

Thanks all! We’ve booked him in!
