Which order should this work be carried out in

I am hoping to buy a property which needs a fair amount of mainly cosmetic work but don't know which order they need to be done in. I'll list them here

New carpets
New Curtains
New decoration
New fire
Boiler service
New Kitchen
New tiling in bathroom

If anyone can offer advice on the order I'd be really grateful.

Like this, first three can be done at the same time. Although not sure what you mean by fire. Hopefully not real one as they're awful for the air quality in your home.

New fire
Boiler service
New Kitchen
New tiling in bathroom
New decoration
New carpets
New Curtains

Boiler service first for safety.
New kitchen before you do new carpets downstairs otherwise they'll potentially get covered in crap depending on how extensive the building work is.
Tiling can also be messy so I'd get that done before carpets.
New fire before decorating if it involves replastering.
Get your curtains whenever as long as you've got an idea of your decor plans.

Tbh in my experience all the above is lovely but in reality you'll be at the mercy of tradespeople and what they can do when.

Tks both, I realise I will be at the mercy of tradespeople but there is nothing I can't live with so am happy to wait.

I need new interior doors too so guess I should do that just before decorating.

The fire is one of those indoor fires, a gas one. Is it bad? I didn't realise that.

It's a bungalow so all on one level

All structural messy jobs first, then decoration then curtains but importantly carpets absolutely last. Doing them any earlier could mean they get ruined by trades people traipsing all over them!

Tks everyone, this gives me a rough plan/timetable to use and is really helpful.

You need the carpets in before you get new doors fitted or they won't be the right height to open over the carpet.

Thank you! That would never have occurred to me
