Anyone know how this thermostat works?

It just seems to show the temperature, but not control the heating st all. Confused

Oh that's weird, mine cuts out even before it reaches the set temp (it's a gas saving measure as it predicts that the house will continue to get warmer and reach the set temp, even after the heating goes off).

No that's right, just wanted to check that it was a set correctly. Did it turn off the heating at all, after it reached the target temperature?

No, I set it to 17.5 and gave up and switched it off at the front of the boiler when it reached 19 on the screen.

I wonder if it's worth trying new batteries in it, otherwise it seems like the thermostat might be faulty.
