Stamp duty

So me and my partner bought a house in August, im a FTB and he is not (he doesn’t have any other houses but previously owned another one) we had our final completion statement through from the solicitors and nothing about stamp duty we’re mentioned so we just paid our fees what was stated.

im a bit confused - has the solicitors made a mistake? Will I get a letter from HMRC years down the line requesting the £3750?

thanks

Yes, because your partner isn't a FTB you will have to pay stamp duty unfortunately.
