Any ideas for this kitchen layout? Wasn't going to have an island/ peninsula as wanted dining table and sofas/tv at bottom end. Bottom end is front of house, south west facing.

Very confused about general layout / flow of house or where doors / windows are. Not sure on size either. Assuming the blue lines are where you’re putting a wall and the only door into the room will be near the top I’d put the dining / family area in the top part maybe a dresser in the alcove, and kitchen in bottom (at front of house). Patio doors from dining area into garden.

Oh sorry it cut it off on me. This is the whole house, to the right is the existing cottage. We are renovating and extending. As you can see we've altered plans from architect (first draft). Taking away back door into kitchen etc...

So ignore building to right. It just current layout. The kitchen was always in this position, sink under left window so it will stay here. We are having two windows to front of living area as shown.

I'm not sure you need 2 doors coming off the hallway into this room. Why not one door in the middle which gives you more room for units.

Look ar first pic. We have removed teo doors into room. Thanks

It doesn't show that at all - in either picture.

Pic one - door blocked off in top left, but in both you have 2 doors on the right hand wall - both going to the hall. Which one are you keeping?

I think @Sandals12 means the photo in the OP, so the lower kitchen door as we look at it is going, as is the island and there will be units all across the top where previously there was a back door.

Having a set of full height cupboards/oven/FF is always ideal. With the windows at the back it looks like it might be hard to achieve.

Have you considered having the kitchen at the front and the dining table and sofa at the back?

If the kitchen has to go at the back then in the top right I would have wall to wall floor to ceiling. Leave a space - possibly make the window floor to ceiling. Then run units from there around the top left corner. Add an island so you can face into the room for some tasks.
