any clever / unusual ideas for replacing a wider than average window? but keeping a single pane look?

We have two old aluminium windows at the front of our house which are just one large single fixed pane (170cm wide) with two tiny fanlights at the top. They give a great view on to our (extremely messy or I would post a pic😅) front garden and let loads of light in.
We need to replace them and I am looking for something aluminium that has that single pane look but can be opened up more. Has anyone found/used anything that would fit the bill? Have seen sliding windows but bet they are £££ https://www.duration.co.uk/Duraslide2000-Horizontal-Sliding-Windows.asp
Otherwise a local fitter has suggested 2 x top hung windows side by side in the space. Not sure as would mean breaking up the current uninterrupted pane of glass which is what I like the most.
Anyone got any clever ideas?

is your aim to get more fresh air in? would you consider a big square pane of fixed glass with a smaller opening pane to one side? that can look very modern, especially if you have narrow frames, but is much easier to install.

almost like this look but the opening pane could be narrower

Yes that might work! Breaks up the view much less than splitting the space in half with two evenly sized windows. Thanks.
And yes the ideal is to be able to let a bit more air through - front of house gets the sun. Current skylights barely open - a few inches. Am actually wondering whether new ones might open better so maybe single fixed pane and two skylights /fanlights that open properly would be ok. But i do like your idea.
