Taylor Wimpey Experience

I'm thinking of buying a Taylor Wimpey new build Braxton town house and I wonder if anyone can tell me about their experience of the company and this house in particular please. I'm really keen to hear if the sound proofing between houses is efficient. I've had some bad experience of neighbour noise in the past, but in much older houses. Is soundproofing much better now or am I deluding myself?

No experience of Taylor Wimpey or of that particular house.

My experience of a newer built 2010s town house (albeit Persimmon not TW) is that the soundproofing is much, much better than in older (let's say Victorian) houses. Presumably due to the insulation and/or fireproofing materials they put in the cavity between the houses. I can barely hear my neighbours at all.

In Victorian terraced houses there might only be a single brick's thickness between you and a neighbour; no wall cavity or soundproofing at all. I could hear my neighbour's every sneeze and cough let alone anything else.

@MaybeSmaller Thank you so much, that's really helpful. I've had problems in Victorian and 1930s houses and have been thinking/hoping that modern building materials and regulations would make things quieter. I'm glad you have peace and quiet where you are now.

Look on Trust Pilot. Their rating is surprisingly good.

No experience with Taylor Wimpey, but we recently sold a Bloor Townhouse (built in 2014) and the noise from the neighbours was unbearable at times.

The layout of the houses meant that both neighbours' staircases were against our walls, so we heard them going up and down at all hours.

Neighbours one side decided to tile the entire downstairs of their home, and we could then hear every chair scrape and footstep!

Neighbours the other side had their TV on the other side of the wall our sofa was against (due to the layout there wasn't much that could be done about this) and we could often tell what they were watching through the wall.

We now live in a detached home. I wouldn't even consider a semi, I was that put off by neighbour noise!
