Do you wish you prioritised travels or property?

If you were in your early 20s again, would you prioritise travels/experiences or getting on to the property ladder sooner?

We have two dc, and it is interesting the different approaches they've taken.
DD has prioritised travelling and seeing the world. She goes for months at a time. She's now 30 and hasn't started saving for a house deposit. Earns a decent wage (£50k). DD wishes she'd saved and bought the flat.

DS has prioritised getting a deposit for a flat with his girlfriend. He's 26 and just bought (with enormous mortgage) a £500k flat (London). He currently makes the same amount of money as his sister, but is likely to earn a lot more in future. DS has voiced that maybe he should have had more fun and bought at 29-30 rather than 26.

Property over travel every time here.

Memories are OK but a roof over your head is real.

I prioritised travel. The downside is the lack of financial security (hopefully, I will get on the property ladder for the first time next month at age 40 - I will have a 34 year mortgage).

If I could go back in time, I would travel smarter (e.g. take 3-4 week trips around Christmas/new year, take a sabbatical etc.). That way, I could have bought my first property earlier.

I prioritised property in my 20s and travel in my 30s. I think it would have been much harder to do the other way round.

I prioritised property. I grew up all over the world in a family where my DF took a lot of jobs abroad, so I'd done a lot of travelling and was not impressed!

For me, it was constantly moving on and leaving friends and being the new kid again somewhere else.

I had no interest at all in travelling through my 20s and have never regretted prioritising buying myself a base somewhere.

They will have a long tine working. Honestly, if they can and want to travel then I think they should.
