West Byfleet

Anyone know the area well? I know it is a bit of a commuter town but it seems pleasant enough. Not a bad commute into Waterloo. I wish I could afford somewhere closer in but can't so it seems an ok compromise. Any negatives I should know about?

I like that it is in between Heathrow and Gatwick and the Thames isn't that far away for walks.

West Byfleet is nice, not far from pyrford which is lovely. Woking is handy for the shops.

There is a Waitrose there and a M&S and large Tesco are a 5 minute drive away.

Nice cinema in Addlestone, theatre in Woking.

I think the train is a stopping service to Waterloo so not the quickest.

I think primary schools are ok but not sure about secondary.

What is your budget?

Hi Sunshine, thanks for your reply. So glad you said it is nice. The train time varies from 30-45 mins but that's fine. I don't need to be in London every day. The supermarket situation seems good. Trying to work out my budget at the moment as I'm late 50s now and don't have the best pension. Will take another trip down there at the weekend. I thought it nice so I'm glad you confirmed it. Thanks so much!

Any idea what Chertsey, Shepperton and Sunbury are like? I've heard Addlestone isn't great but some nice houses come up that are reasonable.

I must take a look at Pyrford as you've said it is lovely. Thanks :)

Addlestone isn't great. Shepperton is ok but the train line to London is very slow; again cherstey is ok but slow Trainline. I don't know much about sunbury.

Thanks Sunshine. You've confirmed what I've heard about these areas. Cheers!

Sunbury is on the same train line as Shepperton. Shepperton is the first/last stop and it takes an age to get into Waterloo.

Thanks Fiddlers
