Awkward bathroom - help?

Any suggestions for an over bath shower curtain rail or some way of solving this that's renter-ish friendly?

I'm renting, I can make changes that I reverse when I leave so can't remove the window or move the bath etc but anything simpler is okay.

At the minute, there's a small square rail attached nearest the window so you have to stand literally over the plug hole - I've got scars on my legs from scraping them on the bath tap that protrudes!

I bought a beautiful over bath oval rail but its just too big according to the builders who've come to quote to fit it and the wall/ceiling has a step in it so the supports were too long even if cut down.

Anyone DIY'd a rail for an awkward space? Or know of a wall mounted one that'd not flimsy?

Ideally I'd have preferred a screen but that's impossible with the window.

Hope my artistic efforts hero 😆

This shows the ceiling wall 'step' a bit better.

Can you not use the usual L shaped curtain rail - like your current one but much longer - creates a shower area that’s as big as the whole bath?
