I've just broken the washing machine door hinge

Was putting washing in, leant on door and one of the hinges snapped.

In a panic I've ordered a new hinge off amazon that says it fits but need a torq??? thingy like an Allen key.

@Pigletjohn or any other wise DIYers, is this something I can fix myself as a cack handed , impatient, non-practical individual?

You should be able to. DIY stores sell torx screwdrivers. I got mine from B&Q.

I broke the hinge on my tumble dryer and was going to repair it but the hinge was out of stock and I couldn't find a replacement, so had to put up with it till the whole thing gave up.

With luck it will have been designed so it can be replaced from outside.

Hinges are sometimes made so you can move the door around for best fit before final tightening.

Look for a set of Torx (sp?) drivers with T or L handles. If they are made of Chrome Vanadium steel that is a good material for tools.

Some of the online appliance parts shops have youtube videos showing how it's done.
