Loft conversions

Hi all

I've recently bought a wreck of a house in Eltham. The 3rd bedroom is very small but the loft space is good so planning to do a loft conversion - 1 bed plus 1 small bathroom - probably dormer. I have never done anything structural to a house before. Done quite a bit of research but it's all quite overwhelming! Can anyone recommend a company they have used recently for this sort of work? Thank you!

I can't recommend a company as I don't live in London but I can say that having a loft conversion was far less invasive than the extension we put on the back. We used the box room for the staircase so have a decent sized lobby for extra storage. You won't regret it. It may be worth posting on your local FB community page for recommendations. Get lots of quotes. Speak to your local building control officer too. Good luck.

To add, I've let a few locals come and have a look at mine when they have been looking for contractor recommendations. It is definitely worth asking around if you have a good community.

Thank you very much, Formidable Mrs C. I'm not actually on Facebook but will definitely ask neighbours. As I'm new to that area, I don't know any of them yet!
