DFS zinc sofa

We’ve just had our new DFS French Connection sofa delivered, loved the display model in the shop which is why we bought it but the one we have had delivered is so different. The fabric is so stiff - we have the green colour - the seat cushions I understand need to ‘bed in’ but the back cushions are stiff and also wrinkly along the top. There is no drape Or give to the fabric so I’m finding it hard to soften it. I took one of the side cushions back to the DFS store to compare - there was no comparison with the one we sat in or the sample fabric , the guy in store said it’s stiffer than the sample because of the fire retardant backing, wish this had been made clear to us. Has anybody experienced this? I’m hoping someone will be able to tell me that their sofa quickly softened up and lost its wrinkles 🙏 at the moment it’s a big disappointment 😞

No they never resolved it so I would think long and hard if I was you .

I had the zinc delivered yest. 4 seater leather. It was to replace the exact same zinc that had worn out and damaged by kid. Had that one in 2017 or 2018. This zinc is firmer, taller arms, cushions and gap between bottom and floor(although the overall height is the same). They have definitely changed it but kept the overall dimensions the same.

I'm considering buying this sofa too, hence resurrecting this thread. People who had issues with stiff material, did you buy the tweedy fabric, the boucle, or the chenille?

Got our 2nd one today because we loved the old one so much. Just doesn't look the same at all. I suspect they've changed the design slightly too and we upgraded to the firmer cushion base and that has made it look very different too. It's like the firmer cushions are bigger and mess up the sleek design. The delivery guys also left all the feet facing different directions and a few are loose. We're absolutely gutted with the whole thing tbh.
