Home (contents) insurance - so many options (which one is best?)

Hi all,

Just curious which company you have used for contents insurance. We did the ‘compare the market’ and ‘money super market’ comparison sites, but very hard to know which one to go with. They all look similar so not sure it matters? Any suggestions would be great :) We just bought a flat in SE London if that helps.

Look very carefully at the exact level of cover. Those comparison sites are competing over price, but do that by quietly dropping some cover that you may later wish you had and by providing quite restricted products. We found this out the hard way when we discovered we lacked accidental damage. While trying to rectify that we realised that our personal items cover was not nearly generous enough.
we’re with M&S now. Higher premiums but a policy that we could adapt to suit our needs.
