Just came across this. It's about 30 miles from me in an idyllic location. Thought I would share with you what £325 k can get you in Northern Ireland. Sorry in advance to any of you living round London or the South east. https://www.propertypal.com/74-benagh-road-cranfield-kilkeel/903708?fbclid=IwAR39KWGSxT6Lfwk65nf_rojjxVZkxgK2KBxZJ0Sxpe4PTQjz2wdJOukbEIg

Link?

MariePaperRoses · 01/10/2023 12:39

Now I see it!

DustyLee123 · 01/10/2023 12:40

That’s my perfect home, it’s got a 6 foot wall around it to keep the neighbours out !

pinkhousesarebest · 01/10/2023 12:41

Oh lovely Cranfield- we spent our childhoods there, looking at the lighthouse!

SisterMichaelsHabit · 01/10/2023 12:42

NI has the best stuff. I miss it every day.

KievLoverTwo · 01/10/2023 12:44

The outside areas look a bit bleak but the inside is great.

Idk why but I find the idea of having five bedrooms of exactly the same size next to each other really appealling.

Maybe I was banged up in a former life?

pinkhousesarebest · 01/10/2023 12:49

It’s so reasonable ( not the Rostrevor one). We moved abroad years go but I could come back to round there. But the weather kills me every time.

Maireas · 01/10/2023 12:51

£325k would buy a very modest terraced house in my area, and I'm not even in London or the South East! I have property envy. Plus- the views 😍

Beautifulbeard · 01/10/2023 12:52

I love the bleakness. Imagine what it would be like during a storm.

Christ. That’s the same price as my extremely boring 3 bed semi.

The agents make a point of declaring the property is cash only and that its Unmortgageable. Fantastic location though. I love it.

SuddenlyOld · 01/10/2023 14:15

It looks a bit like a NT property complete with cafe. It doesn't look like a home at all. Love the location but that's about it. Interesting that it's cash only because it doesn't look in bad nick. I'm guessing it needs renovating which could add 50% to the cost

barbarahunter · 01/10/2023 14:23

I love the literate description in the estate agent's blurb for the first property, makes a lovely change from the mis spellings and exclamation marks so common to many estate agents' literature.

I grew up in NI but now live in the SE of England 😩. I saw the title of this thread and knew what it'd be about 😂. I think anyone over here with any links whatsoever to NI tortures themselves fairly regularly with looking at the property boards in NI.

LaRevolution · 01/10/2023 14:39

That is GORGEOUS 😍

Would be very interested to know why it's cash only though. There's a public footpath going past as well, it looks like, so the 6ft wall may have been a necessary measure!

Brocollimatilda · 01/10/2023 14:46

That first one seems really cheap. It looks right on the beach? Is it a flood risk or something? I have often browsed the north coast for properties and a lot pricier than that.

Brocollimatilda · 01/10/2023 14:49

‘Current condition, cash purchase’ - wonder what is wrong with it. It looks beautiful

Raincloudsonasunnyday · 01/10/2023 14:54

It looks like a very sympathetic restoration of a very cold and damp 5 bedroom dwelling with a maximum of one bathroom and one toilet (is that right?).

Love the isolation and the walled garden. Heavenly.

Mytholmroyd · 01/10/2023 15:08

IME if it doesn't have a useable kitchen and bathroom I don't think a lot of banks will offer a standard mortgage.

Mytholmroyd · 01/10/2023 15:11

But that doesn't seem to be the case here

Looks like it's at massive risk of flooding
