Mood light my new kitchen

Hey everyone, first time homeowner and we are knocking through two rooms to create a bigger kitchen diner.

I need to tell the electrician on Monday where we want lights and plug sockets and I don’t have a clue!

I know we need at least two circuits, one for under counter lighting and one for lights overhead but that’s about it.

Possibly we want to be able to dim / turn off lights in the eating area but leave them on in the kitchen? (Kitchen design tool couldn’t handle French doors opening out from a bay window which is actually there, so looks more crowded than it is). Does the pendant light over the island need it’s own circuit??

And also might want to turn them on/off separately in the tiny corner room on the left where all our baby’s crap toys will be stashed.

Pics attached of what the design / layout will look like. Would love any thoughts and ideas from you lot! Thanks :)

Looks a fairly similar layout to our kitchen. We had two pendant lights over the island on one circuit and then spotlights in the ceiling on a different circuit, both with dimmer switches. And then a separate pendant in the dining area. We also had spotlights under the cupboards but I keep forgetting they are there, not really used them. One thing our builder did say is that we needed more spotlights then we thought especially over the cooker area and he was right!

Have him put plug sockets on the island. Very useful!

We have similar to you. Pendants over island (dining table) then spots in the kitchen and another pendant in sitting room area. All switch separately and on dimmers if needed. Under the cabinets we have ikea smart lighting that automatically comes on at sunset and is dimmed really low. We turn it up for when we are cooking or making a brew. Leaves a low ambient light.
