We viewed a house this morning. A beautiful Victorian 3-story building that ticks most of our boxes. But gosh inside. It is a witch's house. I met 6 black cats inside (yes imagine the smell), pentagrams everywhere, devil figures and hmmm ... some explicit BDSM posters let's put it that way. The property has been in their possession for 8 years and judging by previous pictures they have made a real effort to ruin it. Signs of neglect, mould and it is quite filthy throughout.

Do you think the ambiance will put people off? I'd be willing to wait for them to drop the price by circa 150K 😅

When my landlord was selling my flat, the estate agent booked a viewing at 4pm. I arrived home from work assuming they’d been and gone, took a shower and was on my way to the bedroom to get dressed… when the estate agent opened the front door to show a couple inside. Bear in mind this was about 20 years ago, so I was a slim perky 20-something not a saggy mum. The wife looked horrified, and the husband nearly busted his eyes out of his head and his jaw hit the floor.

With the confidence of being young and hot, I just stood there with water dripping off my tits and said “I thought you were coming at 4pm?” The estate agent apologised, stammering that he had rescheduled (but not bothered to tell me) and he hustled the couple outside. I still remember the enormous grin on the husband’s face as his wife dragged him away. No doubt they have very different memories of how “bad” that viewing was!

I have thought of another one that I seemed to block out until husband reminded me last night. We viewed a terraced property. Estate agent was lovely and very pregnant. We went out to view the garden and she had shut the door behind her...... the door locked shut. We were stuck in a terraced house with no way to get back out. She tried to call her office but no one answered. Husband in the end had to climb over the fence into next doors garden and bang on the back door and ask to be let out. The neighbour looked terrified at this man banging on the door. She looked over the fence and saw us trapped in the garden though and felt sorry for us. We managed to get out after about 20 mins as the back door lock had actually broken. Unsurprisingly the agent never called us for feedback from that property and we never heard from them again. Not helped their selling case by the back garden full of dog shit either.

We've had a few.

The time it turned out it was bedsits and the owner clearly hadn't told the residents there was an open day viewing, the agents had to knock on each bedroom door and 2 or 3 people were asleep because they worked nights, so the rooms couldn't be seen. We left after a couple of rooms as it obviously wasn't fair on the people living there.

A flat that was full of laundry drying everywhere, the residents had several people over and we couldn't see the third bedroom as someone was asleep in there. They were relatives of the owner and DH did wonder if they were trying to stop the place being sold!
